REAGENT Tackling Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction:
At REAGENT Recruitment, we maintain a zero-tolerance stance towards modern slavery. We are dedicated to conducting our business affairs with utmost integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct, ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place within our operations or supply chains.
Our Business and Operations:
As an employment business, REAGENT Recruitment specialises in sourcing and supplying skilled and unskilled staff for the temporary labour market and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. Recognizing the susceptibility to exploitation, we are vigilant in our candidate engagement processes to promptly identify and address any signs of exploitation.
Our Policy on Slavery and Human Trafficking:
- We are committed to taking all necessary measures to eradicate modern slavery from our business.
- Workers have the freedom to choose their employment and leave with reasonable notice.
- We ensure fair and equal treatment of all workers, prohibiting discrimination, victimisation, or harassment on any grounds.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and industry standards regarding wages, benefits, working hours, and minimum age is strictly enforced.
- We do not tolerate child labour or the exploitation of young workers.
- No recruitment fees are charged to workers under any circumstances.
Organisational Structure and Supply Chain:
All workers undergo personal interviews and right-to-work checks, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Our suppliers are expected to adhere to high ethical standards, and we only engage pre-approved subcontractors who meet our rigorous audit criteria.
Risk Assessment:
We are aware of the risks associated with modern slavery and continuously monitor our candidate engagement processes to swiftly address any potential exploitation.
Due Diligence:
- Prospective workers are extensively interviewed to identify any signs of modern slavery.
- We enforce a policy where wages can only be paid into the worker’s bank account.
- Our recruiting staff undergo specialised training and adhere to strict compliance principles.
- We are working towards accreditation with Stronger Together and provide resources to raise awareness among workers.
Training:
All workers receive induction training, including information on modern slavery awareness and available support resources. Additionally, all LINKS Recruitment employees undergo modern slavery training to identify potential signs of exploitation.
Safeguards:
We encourage openness and maintain a whistleblowing hotline for workers to report concerns. We ensure appropriate support for anyone raising genuine concerns and collaborate with relevant authorities as a GLAA licence holder.
Communication and Awareness:
Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery is communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the onset of our relationship and reinforced as needed.
Review:
This Modern Slavery Statement will undergo regular review by Company Directors, at least annually, to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with our commitment to combat modern slavery. This statement complies with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes LINKS Recruitment’s Modern Slavery Statement for the financial year 2023/2024.
